The 2017 Generation Beyond Student Video Challenge is OPEN for Entries

Neil Armstrong was the first astronaut to walk on the moon. Will your students be the first to travel to Mars? Inspire the future generation of space explorers with the Lockheed Martin Generation Beyond Student Video Challenge, now OPEN for entries. Middle school students can enter for the chance to win up to $10,000 and an unforgettable space experience.

THE CHALLENGE: Students in grade 6-8 (individual or teams up to 4) are challenged to design the Mars Base Camp Habitation Module that will orbit Mars and provide a home away from home for the astronauts during their mission.

MISSION DETAILS: Students will present their Mars Base Camp Habitation Module in a one-to-two-minute video, which must also include a visual representation of the Hab.

MISSION SUPPORT: Students learn the science behind important factors to consider when designing a Hab in the interactive Challenge Checkpoints.

LAUNCH WINDOW: Entry videos must be uploaded to YouTube by 8PM ET on December 14, 2017 in order to be eligible for the challenge.
