We had so many talented nominees this month, it was really difficult to select one winner for each category! We’re very excited to introduce you to our February winners!

Burleson High School
Tell us THREE random, interesting facts about you that we’d be surprised to learn!
I’ve spent my entire teaching career in Burleson. When I get the time, I love to scrapbook (digitally.) I used to teach middle school Theatre Arts.
What’s Your Why?
I decided to become a teacher so I can see when students have those AHA moments – when they realize they are capable and proud of their accomplishments.
What has been your proudest teaching moment?
I’ve had a lot of fabulous moments in my 28 year career. One that still shines is when taking students to our annual one act competition. Our students earned the highest rating AND were the only school to earn that rating. Our students were so happy, but calm and gracious to the other schools and students after the contest. When we got to the bus to return home, they let loose and cheered and screamed. I was SO proud of them not only for their accomplishment, but how they comported themselves around the other competitors.
Tell us why/how you make technology a priority in your classroom or campus?
What is your ALL TIME favorite tech tool?
Photoshop (for my digital scrapbooking.)
Please share with us your most successful tech-integrated lesson or program/initiative and tell us a little bit about that experience:
This was designed for AVID. It is a gamified hyperdoc where students are looking at social media from a “I gotta get ready for college” perspective. I love that at the end students have a personalized plan to improve the message their social media accounts make on others.
