Here’s an interactive activity for Factoring Polynomials that could be adapted for a variety of mathematics concepts.
The Slides deck is a Template Preview link. When you click the link, you will be allowed to view the activity (minus the “response cards” in the work space) and clicking the Template Preview button will allow you to create a copy for yourself. Additionally each of these Slides is available as a Google Drawing click and drag activity. The Slides deck simply has the Google Drawings set as the slide background to prevent movement and manipulation.
This activity could be adapted for independent practice, pairs or small group work. T.E.K.S. are included in the presenter’s notes. If you would like to make activities like this one, please schedule an appointment with your Learning Technologies Coach.
Algebra I (C)(10)(E) Number and algebraic methods. The student applies the mathematical process standards and algebraic methods to rewrite in equivalent forms and perform operations on polynomial expressions. The student is expected to factor, if possible, trinomials with real factors in the form ax2 + bx + c, including perfect square trinomials of degree two.
