This year, the LT Team attended the Texas Computer Educators Association (TCEA) conference in San Antonio. It was an exciting week of presenting, learning, networking, and awards.
Monday – Feb 4th: Matt and I presented today during the conference. I presented Google MyMaps for Every Content Area in the Google Theater. It was a huge room and I was nervous about filling it, especially since my boss decided to sit in on my training. But the room filled up and it was an awesome experience. Matt’s session was very well attended and he got lots of props on Twitter.
Tuesday – Feb 5: Today, Lindsay presented an EC workshop and we had the TCEA Awards Ceremony to attend. I nominated several people for awards and Dr. Leslie Bender Jutzi won the District Admnistrator of the Year, and teacher Louise Morgan made the finals. We’re so proud of all the people we get to work with and I try to nominate people every year…because we all deserve to be recognized for our hard work. Congratulations to Dr. Bender Jutzi and Mrs. Morgan!
Wednesday – Feb 6: I presented a repeat of my Google MyMaps presentation today and we all got to attend some amazing presentations. It’s always great to meet new people and check out all of the amazing vendors on the floor!
Thursday – Feb 7: Today we presented as a team about our Chromebook Prepper Academies. We had a great facilitator who was out in the hallway trying to get people to come to our session by telling them we were giving away free tacos! He was HILARIOUS! We also went to dinner at a local Mexican market and it was fantastic!
There were lots of other activities and shenanigans this week – but we all came back recharged with great ideas to share with our BISD teachers and students!
