Eric Curts (CtrlAltAchieve.com) shared a blog post from about a year ago on his Twitter feed. I must have missed this really fantastic resource because I love to read Curts’s ideas, which very often are instantly implementable in the classroom. Check out the suggestions that he has for using Google Docs and its tools to improve writing in the classroom here.
Additionally some of the points that Curts makes in the article about the skills that we are asking students to develop can be taught in a variety of ways. Check out the Summarizing strategies here from Discovery Education‘s #spotlightonstrategies (SOS). To access the link you will need to be logged in to your Discovery Education account. For more information on Discovery Education, your Discovery Education account (and your students’ accounts) and how to log in, please contact Lindsay Foster or your campus LT.
